New Rack Servers and High-Density Servers Achieve Significant Performance Gains over Previous Generation

NORTHBROOK, Illinois – July 11, 2017. International Computer Concepts (ICC), a leading systems integrator of enterprise-level computing solutions, today announced the launch of the next generation of systems based on the new Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors. The processors see a sizable performance boost, and the ICC Intel Xeon Scalable Processor-based systems built around them also maximize the performance-per-dollar customers will experience with this new generation of servers.

Intel has demonstrated a 1.65x performance improvement with the Intel Xeon Scalable processors over the previous generation that it replaces. With up to 28 high-performance coresthese processors provide 4.2x higher virtualized throughput compared with 4-year-old systems broadly used today. Memory connectivity also features significant improvements, with support for up to 6 channels of DDR4 per SPU RDIMM, LRDIMM and 2133, 2400, 2666 MHz 2DPC (no 3DPC support). The Intel QPI interconnect is replaced by Intel Ultra Path Interconnect (2-3 channels per CPU; 9.6, 10.4 GT/s), further boosting CPU performance. Power consumption in the range of 70-205W with 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes per platform. The new Intel Xeon® Xeon® Scalable processors will come in Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels, varying in performance and energy efficiency.

The next generation of ICC Intel Xeon Scalable Processor-based systems launching today take advantage of all of these improvements to the core processing capabilities and offer other advantages as well. The new ICC X-11 based product line feature 1U and 2U rack servers as well as high-density servers in Twin and Blade form factors. Storage and I/O performance has increased and the new systems take advantage of all-flash and NVMe SSD designs. Power supplies for these units are up to Titanium level and 96% efficient. Networking options supported include 1G up to 100G Ethernet, EDR/100G InfiniBand, and Intel Omni-Path Architecture (optimized for HPC). The high-density ICC Intel Xeon Scalable Processor-based options in Twin or Blade form factors will deliver greater performance-per-watt, per-dollar, and per-square-foot than ever before.

“The new Intel Xeon Scalable Processors represent one of the biggest updates to the ICC server portfolio in the past decade,” said ICC’s Director of Development, Alexey Stolyar. “ICC will pass the notable performance benefits of this new technology on to our customers, offering them the best possible systems on the market for their needs.”

The new generation of ICC Intel Xeon Scalable Processor-based systems come in a variety of form factors, including rackform and high-density servers. These systems are available for sale as of today.
