ICC and Define Tech add Engineering Solutions to their suite of Turnkey Clusters

Wednesday, November 17, 2021

NORTHBROOK, Illinois – November 17th, 2021: International Computer Concepts (ICC), a leading systems integrator of enterprise-level computing solutions along with its European counterparts Define Tech Ltd, have added to their suite of Turnkey Cluster offerings, with a solution tailored for engineering workloads including computer-aided engineering (CAE), finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and exploratory data analysis (EDA).

Modern engineering design workloads depend on simulation-driven technologies that both ingest and generate huge datasets. With these continually growing datasets comes the continual need for more and more compute power and ultimately a high-performance computing infrastructure. Finding a compromise between cost and research requirements is something we offer with our Turnkey CFD Cluster solutions. Featuring the latest generation hardware and LMX Cloud software, the turnkey offering is a densely heterogeneous computing platform, featuring leading generation CPU integration to help maximize workload acceleration, boost memory and performance. Built-in GPU acceleration delivers unprecedented compute performance enabling engineers and analysts to harness the power they need to perform complex simulations and solve the most challenging engineering problems.

Highly parallel engineering applications require an HPC storage system that can respond to application demands, which is why this solution includes WekaFS – the fastest file storage for AI and Technical Computing. With support for the latest generation CPUs including the newly announced AMD Milan-X chip, which is reporting up to 50 percent performance improvements on targeted technical computing workloads. The cluster also includes a built-in software application repository for engineering and analytical tools which allows users to easily deploy certified applications such as Ansys and OpenFOAM.

“As a leader in HPC solutions, we appreciate the challenges our customers face regarding the level of expertise needed when deploying HPC Clusters,” noted ICC’s Director of Development, Alexey Stolyar,” with this latest addition to our HPC Cluster suite, we aim to provide our customers with an easy-to-use, cost-effective, AI-optimised solution made specifically for simulation-driven engineering workloads.”

“We recognise that high-performance clusters are not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution, and each industry vertical brings a new set of requirements and applications to the table. Thankfully, our LMX Cloud software bridges the gap between software and hardware requirements for any vertical. For engineering workloads, LMX enables users to interface with the environment via an easy-to-use Web GUI which includes support for remote visualisation as well as GPU rendering for pre/post processing of simulation applications” adds David Power, CTO at Define Tech.
