GIGABYTE announces dual-socket ARM servers

GIGABYTE has recently announced a suite of new dual-socket ARM servers. This is quite important for performance users who focus on the Ampere Altra processors, which support up to 256 CPU cores.

The GIGABYTE R-series servers (R182-P91, R282-P91 and R282-P92) also extend the support for NVMe Gen4 SSDs. Additionally, the new H262-P61, has no thermal limitation – quite the feat for a server of this kind.

The new servers were, in the words of GIGABYTE, “created to provide our users with dual-socket, high-density compute platforms along with flexible storage options that stress NVMe SSDs with consistent performance”.

The dual-socket design by Ampere has 192 PCIe Gen4 lanes for GPUs, storage, and networking. We are a GIGABYTE partner. Speak to us about your ARM needs and we’ll build a solution together.
