CoolIT Systems Delivers Liquid Cooling to High-End Solutions

Towards the end of 2012, we formed a partnership with CoolIT Systems, a provider of innovative and state-of-the-art cooling technology. Their liquid cooling solutions are some of the hottest on the market, enabling increased levels of performance and reliability in advanced system designs.

Always on the lookout for cutting-edge technology that helps us deliver high-performing solutions in workload-intensive environments, we approached CoolIT seeking an answer to a question we were facing in developing our VEGA™ series lines for computational finance. These systems support frequency and voltage overclocking, allowing users to realize the maximum speed and computational potential that the hardware is capable of. The question we faced was this: “how do we enable these systems to consistently run at their performance-premium levels without experiencing the overheating that comes with overclocking?”

CoolIT provided us with the answer.
By utilizing CoolIT’s Eco II-2U solution, we have been able to increase performance and reliability in these high-power, high-heat systems. CoolIT’s direct contact liquid cooling (DCLC) system can allow the room ambient temperature to be raised while keeping the CPU at the same temperature as a stock cooler. In choosing more energy-efficient and lower-cost processors than the most expensive high-end CPUs and instead building a platform where we overclock the hardware, we are able to deliver a high performance computing experience that is conscious of capital expenditures. The CoolIT solution enables the end user to benefit from increased processing speed, improved reliability, and increased rack densities all in a factory sealed and maintenance free package.
