AMD "Genoa" EPYC 9654 still leads the PassMark CPU ranks in March 2023

According to PassMark high-end CPU rankings, AMD Genoa, including the EPYC 9654 CPU is leading the way (in terms of ratings) by a significant margin.

The 96-core processor with 192 threads ranks highest at over 124,000 ranking points - quite the achievement for AMD’s flagship EPYC processor. Next in line in order of CPU ratings is AMD’s own Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX.

Intel is not as close as they would like to be with the Intel Core i9-13900KS being half the ranking points of that of the AMD “Genoa” EPYC 9654. Currently coming in at just over 62,000 ranking points.

It is a great time to be a consumer of high-end CPUs as the manufacturers go toe-to-toe for performance. AMD is already planning the Genoa-X launch later this year - from which we can expect even more significant computing gains.

While PassMark does give generalistic scoring, each use case is different, from specific types of transcoding, high-frequency trading, and more. Our team are ready to assist you with selecting the right CPU for your workloads and requirements, so get in touch today.
