TORQUE is an open-source distributed resource manager that provides control over batch jobs and distributed compute nodes. It is a useful application for helping manage HPC clusters. TORQUE is a community effort which has, with over a thousand patches, incorporated significant advances in scalability, fault tolerance, and many other features.
By itself, TORQUE can be downloaded and deployed at no cost. It can integrate with several other management applications to improve overall utilization and functionality, including the non-commercial Maui Cluster Scheduler and the commercial MOAB Workload Manager. Our all-in-one HPC solution, Bright Cluster Manager, integrates TORQUE (as well as MOAB) into its application.
